ASHLYN'S 4th BIRTHDAY!!!!

On Saturday the 15th we had a little party with some of Ashlyn's cousins ! Ashlyn picked out what she wanted her cake to look like a year ago. She is obsessed with princesses. So I did the best I could to make her princess cake. She loved it!! Especially when she got to play with the princess barbi afterward. She was thrilled when she got to open her presents. She had a lot of fun playing dress up with Hannah the rest of the night. Ashlyn was spoiled on her birthday. I made her favorite breakfast...pancakes. Then when Kaysen was taking his nap she got to make her very own princess crown. For dinner she decided she wanted to go to McDonalds. It is definitely our kids favorite place to go. We saved the Grandparents presents for her to open this day. She was excited to open more gifts. Ashlyn is growing up so fast!! We just love having her in our family.

SPUR OF THE MOMENT TRIP

On Tuesday Nov. 4th we were going about our daily activities. I was on my way to vote when Steve calls me and asks me if I would like to go to California to visit my brother Talmage and their family. Of course I said yes in a giddy way. Steve was out knocking doors trying to get business. He had not had any luck because of the snow that was on the way. So he was sick of it and just thought we could get away for a little bit while the snow is here because he couldn't work anyway. So we left that night 3 hours later. At about 3 am we were both wondering why we had made the trip through the night. It was so worth it when we got there though. So we spent 4 days there. We had a blast!!!!

SAN FRANSICO ZOO

The zoo was a big hit for the kids. Ashlyn and Kaysen loved riding the train, brushing the goats and feeding the wandering peacock.

MONTEREY BAY AQUARIUM

We had so much fun at the Aquarium!! When we first got there we went to the Touch pools. There were Bat Rays that we could touch. Ashlyn was so excited. She was not nervous at all to put her hand in the water to reach for it. Kaysen would have liked to touch but his arms were just a little too short. There was so many things to see here. It is amazing how much sea life there is in the ocean. With so many different colors!! We loved the big Aquarium with big tuna fish, hammerhead sharks, ocean sun fish. They were huge!

Happy Halloween

We had Tyson and Adrianne and their kids over. We had dinner in a pumpkin and served rootbeer with dry ice to make it smoke. The kids had a lot of fun!!! They especially liked going trick or treating.... Ashlyn noticed Kaysen was a little behind so she had to help him along. Which was very nice!!! Ashlyn was excited to dress up as Snow White and I thought Kaysen would be perfect as a Skunk because he is our little stinker!!! 

Carving Pumpkins

Ashlyn and Kaysen had a lot of fun helping Steve clean out the pumpkins to get them ready to carve. Ashlyn thought it was a little gross!!! You can tell by the face she made while digging out the seeds. They were sure impressed with their pumpkin after!!

He did look a little different to us though. The delivery was pretty fast so he came out with a bruised head. So he was all purple. The next day was a little better! He ended up being a very cute baby!

Steve's Babysitting!!!

So I thought this picture was so funny! Steve needed to get some stuff done while he was babysitting so this is how they kept them still. HA HA!!

Silky Shorts

I thought I should add some pictures of Kaysen since Ashlyn had so many. I don't know what it is with little boys and their silky basketball shorts. Kaysen is in love with them. Along with many other boys too. He is becoming such a little man and we just love him in our family. He is a cutie!!!

We decided to put Ashlyn in ballet to get her out and socialize with girls her age. She is such a girl so I thought we should try it out. She is loving it so far and loves to practice at home. She is going to have a performance at Christmas so we are looking forward to that.
