ASHLYN 5th BIRTHDAY

November 18th, 2009

I can't believe Ashlyn is 5!! Time sure flys by. She has been so helpful with Bryce and wants to hold him every second of the day. So we do have to watch her a bit. She has been enjoying preschool and has been doing very well. Ashlyn loves to make things for people and is always thinking of how to make people happy. She also loves doing things for Kasyen and they love to play together. We sure love having her in our family!!!

The day started off with Ashlyn's favorite breakfast. PANCAKES!!! So I decided to make them look like a teddy bear to make it a little more memorable. Then later on in the day we had a couple of her friends come over and make daisy cupcakes and play. The kids loved decorating the cupcakes especially eating them after!! When Daddy got off work we quickly had dinner and awaited the arrival of Uncle Kevin and Uncle Carson and his girlfriend. Ashlyn couldn't be more thrilled that they would be coming over. Ashlyn picked out the cake she wanted and I attempted it and it turned out okay. We had a good time opening presents and Ashlyn loved everything she was given!!!

BRYCE DERRAL MONSON

Our little guy was born Nov. 11th at 6am. He weighed 7pounds 4oz and was 19.5 inches long. He came 8 days early. We were really surprised considering Ashlyn and Kaysen were both 4 days late! So I was extremely happy to go early. It was also exciting because it was Grandpa Zaugg's Birthday that day and since we used his name for the middle name it made the day he was born even more memorable.
When we first brought him home he had Jaundice so he had to be on bili lights for a little over a day. We were glad it did not last long. Ashlyn and Kaysen spent the weekend at Uncle Brett and Aunt Jodi's house. They had a lot of fun with their cousins and I had a quiet weekend adjusting to our new little one. When they came home Ashlyn couldn't stop talking about how cute Bryce was and wanted to hold him every minute. Kaysen was excited to see him too! Except for he would hold him for a minute and say he was done.
Things are going good and we are adjusting well. We have had many people drop meals off and help babysit the kids while we were in the hospital. We are so greatful for friends and family who have helped make the adjustment a little better!!!

Pregnancy Update!

Well , we are definitely on the count down!!! 10 more days I can't believe it. Today at Church I was having mixed feelings about having this baby. Ashlyn had a meltdown and I wasn't sure if I was ready for 3 yet. I guess We will never really be ready. We are just excited to meet our little one!! Kaysen told me today that I need to go to the doctor so our baby will come out. I think that is a fabulous idea!! Hopefully next time I blog will be about our baby boy!!

HALLOWEEN

Gardner Village

We went with Ashlyn's preschool class to Gardner village to look at all the witches. The kids had a blast. They were so excited to sit by this witch and get their picture taken. They had some pretty amazing witches!!!

So we went to the mall on Halloween and did some trick or treating there. Kaysen was determined to wear his spiderman costume there. Even though we had planned on him being a dragon. So he was spoiled this year and dressed up in two different costumes. The mall was a little overwhelming ! There were so many people there. I am not sure if next year I will venture out there. The kids enjoyed it though!!!

Halloween night

We went over to our friends house to have pizza before our big night of trick or treating. These kids sure have a blast together. They had fun taking turns ringing the door bell and then knocking on the door all at once. I think a little too excited to get candy!!

This is Steve and I dressed up as Hill Billies. Pretty lame but it was the best we could come up with. We were invited to a halloween party.Steve really wanted me to go as Santa Claus and him an elf. I wasn't too sure about that and we really couldn't find a Santa suit so it didn't work out! We had a good time there considering it was time away from the kiddies!!

LAGOON

Steve took the kids to Lagoon Oct 17th with his family. Since I am pregnant I did not get to go but ended up Christmas Shopping instead, which turned out perfect without Kids!!! The kids had a blast and so did Steve! They went on the rides over and over again.

Attempting sewing

Well, I thought I should try sewing a few things for our new baby that will be here soon. I have decided I am not the best at sewing blankets but the burp clothes and nursing covers turned out okay!!! I definitely have a lot to learn!! It was fun learning to do something new.

Ashlyn's Preschool

Ashlyn is now going to preschool 2 times a week. I went with her on her first day of school to meet the teacher and classmates. She was super excited. She had been asking for so long if she could go to school. So she was definitely ready. I thought Kaysen would be lonely without her at home but he has been doing great. He now can ride Ashlyn's bike without her permission!!! :) We have had some good bonding time together which is good because he is not going to get much attention once this baby arrives. The pictures of the kids by the big tire is a field trip they went on to a copper mine. It was so cold so I didn't get many pictures. The kids were excited to see the huge tire and see the dump trucks that it went on. Ashlyn has 3 girls in her class and 6 boys. She comes home telling me about all the kids, especially the ones that don't mind. It is kinda funny!!!
